A Home Economist is an integral part of any TV cookery programme or video shoot. In essence, they ensure the smooth running of the project.
Jill has vast experience of TV work and is an expert at preparing, cooking and styling the food that is filmed. Jill demonstrates that she can work under pressure and still retain her relaxed, personable manner ensuring that filming goes as well as possible. She has worked with some of the biggest names in the current TV food and drink world including Mary Berry, James Martin, The Hairy Bikers and Paul Hollywood.
To begin with, Jill prepares all the ingredients, kitchenware and crockery in the correct place and order, ready for filming. Further to this, while chefs are being filmed, Jill is always on hand to assist if needed. Although TV work can sometimes be less stressful than a live demonstration, often cameras and filming can be a little daunting, so Jill remains on-set to help guide the process.
