Behind the Scenes at the BBC Good Food Show
The BBC Good Food Show is always a highlight of my calendar.
Looking back on an incredible few days at the show, I had the pleasure of working behind the scenes on the Princess Cruises cocktail workshops.
From the beginning, it was clear this was going to be a special event. Working alongside the brilliant Andy Clarke, we brought the Princess Cruises cocktail sessions to life, creating an experience filled with creativity, great ingredients, and plenty of enthusiasm from our guests.
Creating Cocktail Workshops with Princess Cruises
As a home economist, I love seeing what happens behind the scenes at the BBC Good Food Show.
Before the guests arrive, there is always a lot going on backstage. First of all, the home economist team is busy organising ingredients, preparing equipment, and checking every little detail before the doors open.
Meanwhile, the final touches are made to ensure each workshop is ready to go. Once everything is in place, the team is ready to welcome guests and bring the sessions to life.
During the workshops, guests tried new cocktail recipes, discovered more about the ingredients, and had fun creating ‘The Butterfly’—a colour-changing cocktail that added a little extra magic to every session.
After each workshop, it was time to clear down, reset the space, and prepare for the next group. Then, before we knew it, it was time to do it all over again!
Thank You to an Amazing Team
Behind every successful event is a brilliant team, and this one was no exception. I’d like to say a huge thank you to my backstage team—Helen, Michelle, and Georgia—who worked incredibly hard throughout the show.
From start to finish, the team’s organisation, enthusiasm, and attention to detail made such a difference. Whether it was preparing ingredients, setting up equipment, or keeping everything running on time, they made every workshop feel effortless. Because of their hard work, our guests could simply relax and enjoy the experience. In the end, that’s what made the workshops so special.
I’d also like to thank the BBC Good Food Show team, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes. Together, everyone’s support, dedication, and teamwork helped make the workshops such a success.
Looking back, the BBC Good Food Show was a wonderful reminder of why I love working in this industry. Here’s to more exciting projects, more behind-the-scenes moments, and, of course, plenty more cocktails along the way. 🍸
