Air Fryers: A Kitchen Essential
Air fryers have quickly become an essential kitchen appliance in homes across the UK. They cook food faster, use less oil, and make preparing everyday meals simple and convenient. As more people have discovered their benefits, the demand for easy, reliable, and creative recipes has continued to grow. That’s exactly what made this project so exciting.
Working with Tower
I was delighted to work with Tower Housewares, testing a range of their air fryers and discovering just how versatile they are. At first, my role focused on testing recipes and exploring the features of each model. However, the project soon grew into something much bigger.
I went on to develop and write recipes for three different Tower air fryers. Those recipes were then published as three dedicated recipe books, giving customers plenty of inspiration to help them get the most from their appliances.
More Than Just Chips!
Like many people, I originally thought of air fryers as the perfect appliance for cooking chips and chicken. However, I quickly realised they could do so much more.
Throughout the project, I created a wide range of recipes, from crispy chicken wings and perfectly roasted vegetables to a light Victoria sponge cake and a creamy baked cheesecake. Every new recipe revealed another way to use an air fryer, and each success inspired the next idea. Before long, it became clear that the possibilities really are endless.
A Summer of Recipe Development
Recipe development became my summer project. I spent weeks cooking, testing, tasting, and refining recipes until they were just right. Every dish had to work consistently and produce great results for home cooks.
Fortunately, the weather was beautiful, so I photographed many of the finished dishes in the garden using natural light. It was the perfect setting and made the food look even more inviting.
Meanwhile, my family and neighbours happily stepped in as taste testers. They sampled everything I cooked and gave honest feedback, which helped shape the final recipes. Thankfully, they were more than happy to help throughout the summer!
From Kitchen to Cookbook
Seeing all of that hard work come together in three published recipe books was incredibly rewarding. It was a project that combined recipe development, food styling, photography, and plenty of creativity. Looking back, it’s one of my favourite collaborations and an experience I’ll always be proud of.
