Nantwich Food Festival Cookery Theatre

The Nantwich Food and Drink Festival takes place annually in September.

This was my second visit to the Nantwich Food Festival supporting chefs in the celebrity cookery theatre. Popular TV chef Rosemary Shrager and Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebbutt were two of the chefs that I supported at this year’s festival. It’s one of the few food festivals in the UK  based in the town centre.

Apparently, this fantastic little town boasts one of the largest collections of historic buildings in Cheshire. It’s rich in historic architecture with Elizabethan, Georgian and Victorian buildings throughout the town centre. The bustling narrow streets have an abundance of independent shops, selling a wide range of food and drinks. The town also has a fabulous selection of coffee shops, restaurants and bars. There has been a market in Nantwich since 1720, and as well as the thriving market held each Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, there is a Farmers’ market on the last Saturday of every month, full of high-quality local produce.

Here is a quote from the festival which explains what goes on during the festival weekend…

‘’For one long weekend each September, Nantwich is transformed into a food lover’ paradise, with two marquees full of top quality food and drink producers from Cheshire, all around Great Britain and the world, as well as a wide variety of street food stalls. There is something for every age, taste and wallet, and it’s easy to find your way around the Festival and enjoy beautiful Nantwich at the same time, with plenty of friendly guides around town. Parking is limited in historic towns, but we’ve thought of that too…. The Nantwich Food and Drink Festival is free, including our chef demos. There will be exciting entertainment and delicious food all weekend, so put the dates in your diary and come and join the party. Keep checking back with us for more details of Exhibitors, Events and more! ‘’
