Cookery Demonstrations and Celebrity Chefs at Nantwich Food and Drink Festival
The Nantwich Food and Drink Festival takes place every September, bringing together food producers, chefs and visitors for a celebration of great food and drink.
This year marked my 7th visit to the festival, where I worked behind the scenes supporting chefs in the celebrity cookery theatre. Over the years, I have had the pleasure of working alongside many talented chefs. These include popular TV chef Rosemary Shrager, ITV This Mornings Phil Vickery, Saturday Kitchen’s Matt Tebutt and Bake Off: The Professionals’ Cherish Finden.
As well as supporting the chefs on stage, I prepare everything needed for each demonstration. From recipe preparation to organising ingredients, my role as a Home Economist is all about careful planning and attention to detail. In addition, I also get the chance to take to the stage and demonstrate some of my favourite recipes.
One of the things that makes this festival particularly special is its location. Unlike many larger food festivals, Nantwich Food and Drink Festival takes place throughout the historic town centre. Visitors can enjoy the event while exploring the local shops, cafés and restaurants.
Discovering Nantwich
As well as being a fantastic food destination, Nantwich is a beautiful historic town in Cheshire. While visiting the festival, guests can explore the charming narrow streets and discover a variety of independent shops selling delicious food and drink.
In addition, the town has a wonderful selection of coffee shops, restaurants and bars. Because of this, Nantwich is the perfect place for food lovers to enjoy the festival while discovering everything the town has to offer.
A Celebration of Food and Drink
Throughout the festival weekend, Nantwich comes alive with the sights, smells and flavours of great food and drink. Visitors can enjoy everything from celebrity chef demonstrations and artisan producers to exciting street food stalls.
What makes the festival special is the variety on offer. Not only can visitors watch talented chefs in action, but they can also meet passionate producers, discover new flavours and try delicious dishes from around the world.
Furthermore, the festival creates a wonderful atmosphere where food lovers of all ages can come together. With live entertainment, fantastic food and a welcoming community spirit, Nantwich Food and Drink Festival is a celebration that is well worth adding to your diary.
